7 Bible Guarantees For Friendship Part 1

God recognized man’s need for relationship when He created a companion for Adam in the Garden of Eden. In Genesis 2:18, God said, “It is not good that man should be alone.” We need godly relationships in our lives to strengthen and encourage us. Here are 7 bible guarantees for friendship.

  1. God’s Word guarantees that you will have friends if you show yourself friendly. {Proverbs 18:24  A man who has friends must himself be friendly. But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.} You will have quality friends if  you make the effort to always be friendly.
  2. God’s Word guarantees that godly friends make you stronger {Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. } As you grow in your relationship with God and pursue godly relationships, the friends you choose to surround yourself with will either move you closer to or father away from your goals. Good friends will sharpen you, because they are moving int he same direction as you.
  3. God’s Word guarantees that godly friends will help you realize your potential. {Proverbs 20:5 Knowing what is right is like deep water in the heart;
    a wise person draws from the well within}
    God has a unique purpose for you. Good friendships will help you achieve all that God has planned for your future.
  4. God’s Word guarantees that true friends will stick with you no matter what. {Proverbs 17:17 Friends love through all kinds of weather,
    and families stick together in all kinds of trouble.}
    Fair weather friends will leave at the first sign of trouble. But true friends do not change their attitude towards you just because negative circumstances arise.
