Christ said that if we seek Him, we will find Him. What happens when we do find Him?
How many “Christians” only find Christ when they seek Him . To fill the void that only He can fill, yet to be frustrated into thinking that this is where our search ends? Okay great I am a christian, I go to church, pay my tithes, and do my volunteer hours life is great! No, it is not… maybe for a while that sense of same old routine will be enough but eventually you will want more. Just like any good thing! If we simply find Christ, but we do nothing with what we’ve found in Him, then have we really begun the transformation mentioned in Romans 12:2 (‘Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind’)? Lets take food for example… If it is an amazing german chocolate cake one bite would be a shame although everyone has told you to keep that figure and not give in, but yet it is so good you just have to! That is how our relationship with Christ should be! We should constantly want more and no matter what people tell us or discouraging things that may come our way, we should always hunger for more growth in Him. After we have this mentality in us we have to find things that will help us continue to grow and become more Christ-like.
You must ask yourself a question. “Are we changing into something that God’s wants us to be or are we just staying saved?”
We want to be people who are overly committed and convicted in what the word says.
I know what you have done; I know that you are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were either one or the other! 16But because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I am going to spit you out of my mouth!
Basically what that scripture is saying to me is that because you are either not a christian or on fire for God you are useless to me. Although that is a hard way of looking at it we have to see how many times God brings up in the scripture that He wants our whole heart. God gave us free will but staying in the grey is not a way to live. Anyways, we have to ask ourselves “Am I going to go all the way with this Christ-like life style or am I going to choose to take salvation without truly giving myself to Christ.” And I guess this begs the question, “If I choose to refuse to give myself completely to Christ (refusing to allow Him to change me into His image) am I truly saved?”
Who would ever want to be “just saved” and risk missing out on God’s help becoming what he designed us to be? I know I sure do not want to be luke warm! I’m tired of struggling personally and seeing others struggling to find out who they are. I want to be committed to becoming who and what God wants me to be. I want to change, redesign normal, “be transformed by the renewing of my mind”! I want to become a great person created and shaped by God’s hands! How about you?
I will leave you with this!
1 Chronicles 22:19
“Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise, therefore, and build the sanctuary of the LORD God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the holy vessels of God into the house that is to be built for the name of the LORD.”
